MORE FAITH THAN I POSSESS Original lyrics by Stan C. Countz
Take a look around you. Are you too blind
to see?
His handiwork
surrounds you. Observe the earth ,
the sky and sea. Can a painting of
vast beauty paint itself? Can fallow ground
plant and till itself?
Can a building plan
and build itself? Then how can man
create himself?
It takes more faith than I possess to place my faith in randomness or in a theory or educated guess or a well meant hypothesis. Since when does
order come from chaos? Let’s use the brain
our creator gave us. For greater is He
who is in us
than he that is in
the world…
To believe that
life just happened is more than
simple, it’s absurd. To believe we came
from nothin’: a miracle must have
occurred (and we don’t
believe in miracles now do we?) Look around you.
Are you too blind to see? His handiwork
surrounds you. Observe the earth,
the sky and sea. It takes more faith than I possess to place my faith in randomness or in a theory or educated guess or a well-meant hypothesis. I’ll be a monkey’s
uncle; you have more faith than I. Even Simon and
Garfunkle must've finally realized that no man is a
rock or an island to himself; that grounds and
fields can’t plant and till themselves; that bridges and
people can’t plan and build themselves. So deliver us from
evil and save us from ourselves. |

IT ALL BEGAN IN A MANGER Oriiginal lyrics by Stan C. Countz
We
like to show the world all our
great successes but He
delights to show himself inside
our little messes. He reached out to
everyone. He never knew a stranger. His day will surely come but it all began in a
manger. Yes it all began in a manger. He knew we were all in danger. He never knew a stranger. It all began in a
manger. Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty but from the strength of
an ox comes harvest aplenty. His strength shines through In all our weakness. He wants to work through our own uniqueness. We get annoyed by life’s
little messes. We want to avoid any
dangers. He can work through our
successes but He prefers to work
in mangers. Well it all began, began
in a manger.
He knew we were, we were
all in danger.
He never knew, never
knew a stranger.
It all began, began in a
manger. He was worshipped by
strangers, shepherds, sheep and
cows. He was born, born in a
manger with all the smells and sounds. We all like sheep have
gone astray. We've turned everyone
to his own way. And the Lord has laid,
laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was my Great
Shepherd. He laid down His life
for His sheep. His sheep know His voice
and follow and they will lay down
at His feet. Well it all began, began
in a manger
He knew we were, we were
all in danger
He never knew, never
knew a stranger
It all began, began in a
manger
It all began, began in a
manger

Sixty-five million Americans (almost one person in four) have high blood pressure. Fifty million have problems with sleep. Forty million suffer from some form of anxiety disorder. Untold millions are troubled with headaches, ulcers, back pain, and tension. This is an overstressed culture.
What does the Bible have to say about this? "That ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands" (1 Thess. 4:11).
